How the Sound of "Silence" Helped Create the World's Fastest Random Number Generator

Here's an interesting article from Science Daily detailing how a group of scientists are listening to the vacuum of space.  Previously believed to be empty, they're finding that the area is actually occupied by sub-atomic particles that spontaneously appear and disappear.  This "noise" has actually proved very useful in creating an insanely fast random number generator.  Check it out...
